Arsene Wenger has spoken about Loic Remy watching Arsenal take on West Brom this afternoon.

Arsenal played their final game at The Emirates today – beating West Brom 1-0 in what was something of a damp fixture in North London.

An Olivier Giroud goal was enough for victory – the French international striker signing off a good season, no matter what others might tell you, in style.

But bizarrely he was not the French striker making the headlines – that title belonged to Loic Remy.

The Newcastle United striker has been heavily linked with The Gunners recently – as his deal with parent club QPR includes a buy-out clause they are said to be considering meeting.

He has proven himself at this level this season – and he was at the ground watching, getting picked up by an eagle eyed Sky cameraman among the players friends and family.

But as for Wenger signing Remy – he said that he didn’t even know Remy was there.

He told Arsenal.com:

“Honestly I have just been informed that Loic Remy was here, I didn’t know. So don’t see any sign of us signing Loic Remy in that. I hope he has paid for his ticket! No [I didn’t invite him], that’s why I tell you I have not invited him.”

It seems likely that one of his team-mates from international duty asked him to come along and watch – almost how players try to sign their mates in Sunday League footy.

Remy is however a great option – and Wenger would still do well to bring him in at the right price.
