Yannick Bolasie has called on Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to reward Calum Chambers with more minutes on the field.
Chambers was arguably the Gunners’ best player as Arteta’s side came from three goals down to draw 3-3 with West Ham United in East London today.
The 26-year-old hasn’t always fared well at right-back but the Arsenal defender – primarily a centre-back – was brilliant at both ends of the field, whipping in some delicious crosses all afternoon.
This was the former Southampton star’s second Premier League since 2019, due to injury and falling down the pecking order under Arteta.
But Everton winger Bolasie – on loan at Middlesbrough – has sent a tweet about the £16 million signing from 2014, advising his Spanish coach to start using him more.
The good news for Chambers – and Bolasie – is that the man himself might just get more games.
As far as the Premier League goes, Arsenal have very little to play for and the Gunners’ priority is winning the Europa League.
That means Arteta is likely to keep his best players in reserve for as long as they remain in Europe and that can only be a good thing for the former Saint.
