Celtic and Rangers have experienced contrasting campaigns so far this season.

Speaking live on Sky Sports‘ Premier League Daily show at 11:56 am on Wednesday March 8th, former Hoops star Charlie Nicholas explained just how far Rangers are behind Celtic – a gap that he believes has broadened since Mark Warburton left the club last month.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are currently totally dominant in the Scottish Premiership, and hold an insurmountable 33 point lead over their bitter rivals Rangers.
The gulf in class between the two sides has been plain to see all season long, and it will take a herculean effort for the Gers to close the gap over the next year or so.
And Nicholas, who made 188 appearances for Celtic over the course of two separate spells with the club, highlighted just how far behind his former club Rangers are, when speaking to Sky Sports:
“The fact is, Celtic can go and spend £3.5 million on Sinclair, they can get a cross-border transfer for Dembele for £500,000, they’re flexing their muscles. Rangers could come back, for me under Warburton they were three or four players away from getting closer. Now I think it’s broadened, and they could be as much as eight or nine players away.”
The Old Firm are set to meet on Sunday at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership, and then again in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup next month.
And surely only two wins from those games for Rangers will do, as they look to salvage some pride from their flagging campaign.
