Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Everton announced the appointment of Rafa Benitez on a three-year contract.
What’s the story?
Well, Everton became the first of the managerless Premier League clubs to make an appointment, choosing to hire the ex-Liverpool boss.
Now, both Tottenham and Crystal Palace are the only clubs without a manager in England’s top-flight.
You might be wondering why this news concerns Tottenham fans.
Well, for one, it has attracted attention given the fact the north Londoners are without a manager, and could’ve hired Benitez.
However, it is more relevant as Everton have just done something Daniel Levy did when hiring Jose Mourinho.
Everton have copied Tottenham

Once upon a time, Mourinho called Tottenham a ‘very small club‘ on his way to become a legend with their rivals, Chelsea.
Spurs still went on to hire the Portuguese coach.
In similar fashion, Benitez once called Everton a small club while becoming a Liverpool icon.
That clearly hasn’t stopped Farhad Moshiri, Bill Kenwright and Marcel Brands from wanting the Spaniard at Goodison Park.

Of course, hiring someone who has angered fans in the past is a big risk.
Football fans have great memories, and through the use of anti-Benitez banners, it’s clear that some supporters still haven’t forgiven him.
For now, let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to Everton hiring Benitez…
