Kyle Walker of Manchester City breaks past Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester City continued their remarkable winning run on Saturday night, as they hammered Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
City broke the Premier League record with the 4-0 thrashing of Swansea City in midweek, as that was their 15th league win in a row – and the record has now been extended to 16.
Ilkay Gundogan headed home Leroy Sane’s first half corner having found himself completely unmarked in the penalty area, before City ran riot in the last 20 minutes.

Kevin De Bruyne smashed home a second before Raheem Sterling notched a late brace, with Christian Eriksen’s injury time strike little more than a consolation.
City sit 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and Saturday’s win means that Tottenham’s dismal away form against the so-called ‘big clubs’ remains disappointing under Mauricio Pochettino.
The win also gave City fans the chance to poke some fun at Tottenham, given that defender Kyle Walker got to taste a huge win over his former club, having left Spurs for City in a big-money move over the summer.

City supporters took to Twitter to celebrate Walker’s performance, calling him ‘brilliant’ and ‘immense’, even branding him the best right back in the Premier League after another strong display.
Others took the chance to mock Spurs for their ‘project’ whilst Walker sits top of the Premier League, pointing out that Kieran Trippier isn’t even close to Walker and certainly won’t regret making the move to the Etihad Stadium.
