The Australian Open is launching a brand-new tournament for 2026 called the 1 Point Slam, which will star professional tennis players as well as amateurs.
The tournament is a one-point shootout and the likes of Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, and Naomi Osaka have signed up for it.
The winner of the event, which will take place a couple of days before the Australian Open on Rod Laver Arena, will pocket $1 million.
A high-profile singer and actor has now been confirmed for the tournament alongside some of the biggest names in tennis.

Jay Chou will compete at the Australian Open’s 1 Point Slam
Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jay Chou is the first celebrity to confirm his appearance at the 1 Point Slam in Melbourne.
The star will best be known to Western audiences for films such as The Green Hornet and Now You See Me 2.
Chou is also a well-known pop star in Asia and he’s previously packed out the 200,000 capacity Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Center and the 320,000 Shanghai Stadium.
The actor and singer will surely bring plenty more eyes on the 1 Point Slam as the Australian Open looks to expand into a smaller format.
The tournament is another high-profile exhibition event offering a lucrative prize pot, but there could be plenty of space for embarrassment for the top stars.
With just one point to play for, there truly is no space to make a mistake once you hit the court in Melbourne.
Who else is playing the 1 Point Slam?
Unsurprisingly, plenty of top stars on both the ATP and WTA Tour have signed up to try and win $1 million.
Alexander Zverev, Nick Kyrgios, Lorenzo Musetti, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Iga Swiatek, and Alex de Minaur are also set to compete.
Amateur players from several clubs around Australia have been urged to compete, with a qualifying phase already underway.
The event takes place on 14 January, four days before the main draw of the Australian Open officially gets underway.
