The former Football League manager has predicted an away victory for Nottingham Forest as they travel to Rotherham

Writing his predictions for Sky Sports, Ian Holloway has backed Nottingham Forest to win their midweek fixture at Rotherham due to the quality of midfielder Henri Lansbury’s hair.

In his pre-match analysis of the fixture at the New York Stadium, Holloway wrote: “Henri Lansbury got one at the weekend, he’s got his hair all plaited and I think that’s going to get him a second goal in two games!”

Lansbury’s late leveller helped Forest battle back from 2-1 down to claim a late point at Villa Park on Sunday, a result which leaves them sitting in 10th place ahead of the full compliment of midweek Championship fixtures.

Holloway tipped Forest’s opponents Rotherham for relegation at the start of the season, and feels Philippe Montanier’s side have enough about them to take all three points back from South Yorkshire.

The hosts’ confidence may be dented from throwing away a two-goal lead to only draw with Bristol City at the weekend, and Alan Stubbs has a tough job on his hands to keep the Millers out of trouble this season.

Wednesday’s match will be a reunion of sorts, with several former Forest men set to line up for Rotherham. Dexter Blackstock joined the Millers earlier this month following his release from the City Ground, whilst Lee Camp – who made 178 league appearances for Forest between 2008 and 2013 – will take his regular place between the sticks for the hosts. Ex-Forest defenders Kelvin Wilson and Greg Halford could also feature.

Striker Apostolos Vellios opened his Forest account in spectacular style with the opener against Villa, and his manager has told the Nottingham Post that there is plenty more to come from the Greek striker.

Vellios’ only previous experience in English football was disappointing. He spent two and a half largely unsuccessful seasons at Everton which included a goalless loan stint at Blackpool, but has arrived in the Midlands fresh from finding the net regularly for Iraklis Salonika in his homeland and will hope to add to his Forest account at Rotherham.
