Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum struggled in friendly clash with Peru.

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum found it tough going last night for the Netherlands.
Wijnaldum was picked as a starter in the Dutch side which hosted Peru in a friendly.
Picked in a defensive midfield role alongside Kevin Strootman, Wijnaldum found it difficult to make his mark.
Both Wijnaldum and Strootman were substituted at half-time by Dutch boss Ronald Koeman with Netherlands 1-0 down.
Ajax’s Frenkie De Jong and Brighton’s Davy Propper came on in their place, and helped turn it around, with Memphis Depay scoring twice to seal a 2-1 victory.

Wijnaldum has proven himself adaptable and versatile for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and he has become a big asset.
He played a key role for the Reds last season as they reached the Champions League final.
This latest match had Dutch fans wondering why Wijnaldum struggled to bring his Liverpool form with him to the international set up.
The former Newcastle midfielder took a roasting on social media from frustrated supporters.
Here is a look at how his 45 minute display was received…
