Clint Dempsey has claimed that Leeds United midfielder, Tyler Adams, is the ‘main leader’ for the US national men’s team.
The former Premier League midfielder added that Leeds’ summer signing is someone who is going to ‘hold people accountable’ for their actions, as he told CBS Sports (06/09/22 at 7:35 pm).
Jesse Marsch used his contacts well by bringing his fellow countryman to the Premier League this summer and the 23-year-old has started life in a healthy fashion.

In November, he will be tasked with playing a big role for the USA, as they are part of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Adams will be locking horns against some very familiar names because England are in the same group as those from across the pond.
Nonetheless, when former US international Dempsey spoke about leaders in the national side, he highlighted Adams as a key figure.
“I think you need characters in the team,” said Dempsey. “I think you need multiple leaders. But if you talk about someone who is going to hold people accountable, then I think that’s Tyler Adams.
“People who can lead by example. Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic, those are the guys that can lead by example – but I would say the main leader is Tyler Adams.”

ADAMS FILLING BIG SHOES AT ELLAND ROAD
It was a summer of mixed emotions for Leeds fans because, on one hand, they signed some big players, including Adams and Brenden Aaronson.
But, on the other, they lost two key figures in Kalvin Phillips, who joined the Premier League champions, and Raphinha who signed for Barcelona.
Adams is filling Phillips’ shoes in the middle of the park and that is a big task because the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ was a key member of Marcelo Bielsa’s side for a number of years and someone who had that extra connection with the fans because he is one of their own.
Despite the heavy defeat to Brentford over the weekend, Leeds have started the new season in a strong fashion and Adams is one of those players who can put his name forward.
