HITC Sport understands Cardiff City are poised to sign TNS defender Ryan Pryce
Cardiff City have agreed a deal to sign The New Saints defender Ryan Pryce after beating off interest from a number of other clubs, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club
Pryce caught the eye at this summer’s V9 academy – run by Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy.
Pryce was invited to attend the V9 academy as Vardy looks to give non-league players the chance to break into league football.
Right-back Pryce has impressed at Welsh side TNS since breaking into the first-team in 2015 and he won himself a trial at Middlesbrough last year.
The attacking defender is highly-regarded at TNS and scouts from clubs higher up the football pyramid have been keeping tabs on his progress for some time.
Pryce was been a stand-out performer during the V9 academy trials and a number of Premier League sides were alerted to his potential.
Cardiff City, however, were determined to steal a march on their rivals by tabling an offer for Pryce as they look to bring the former Shrewsbury youngster to the Welsh capital.
TNS are resigned to losing Pryce and the defender is expected to initially link up with Cardiff’s Under-23s squad before pushing for a place in Neil Warnock’s first-team.
