Tim Sherwood has suggested on Premier League Productions that Mauricio Pochettino would not have signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Spurs manager does not think that Hojbjerg is the type of player Pochettino would have gone out to bring to Tottenham.
Tottenham signed the 26-year-old Denmark international midfielder from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2020.
Sky Sports reported at the time that Spurs paid the Saints £15 million plus bonuses for Hojbjerg.
Jose Mourinho was in charge of Tottenham at the time.
Sherwood said about Hojbjerg on Premier League Productions: “I think he is a decent signing for a Nuno or a Jose Mourinho.
“I am not sure he would have played in a Pochettino side because when you have to chase the game, he is okay in possession, but he is not really a creator like Christian Eriksen, who can find a pass.”

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is here now
Hojbjerg is not exactly a world-class midfielder, but the former Southampton star has not exactly done badly at Spurs so far.
The Dane has done well in his role in the middle of the park, protecting the back-line as well as trying to drive the team forward.

Hojbjerg has been used as the holding midfielder at Spurs, and you cannot say that the 26-year-old has been disappointing.
Now, of course, every player can do better, but Hojbjerg has done the best he possibly could.
The Tottenham no.5 has played five times in the Premier League so far this season, and scored two goals and gave four assists in 38 league appearances in 2020-21.
