Tottenham Hotspur new boy Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has revealed that he cannot wait to start playing inside the club’s ‘unreal’ stadium.

Spurs unveiled the former Southampton midfielder at Hotspur Way yesterday following a £15 million deal.

Hojbjerg is Tottenham’s first summer signing but he certainly won’t be their last, after the North Londoners regressed last season in comparison to the 2018-19 campaign.

The Lilywhites, under Jose Mourinho since November, finished sixth in the Premier League table and failed to win a trophy.

They don’t have a world-class team right now, but they certainly have a world-class stadium – and one that cost £1 billion.

Tottenham’s new home has received widespread praise for its exciting innovative features, and here’s what the Danish star had to say about it.

When asked about the stadium, Hojbjerg told the club’s official website: ““That was also one of the first things I said, especially to my wife. I said that hopefully one day when the fans are allowed in again, (I want) to be the first one in that stadium because it’s unreal.

“It is really among the best – maybe the best. The stadium is something to be proud of and it’s amazing to have that stadium as a home now, hopefully with lots of good memories, lots of good achievements and titles in it.”

Once the fans are allowed back, home games will surely be something a bit special for Tottenham again.

Mourinho will want to make that place a fortress, akin to Stamford Bridge during his early seasons at Chelsea.

It already looks like a fortress in terms of stature; now the Portuguese just has to do the same with regards to intimidating the opponent.
