For all the fanfare that followed Gareth Bale’s return to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, he hasn’t been their best signing of the window.
Bale obviously re-signed for Spurs on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in September and it’s fair to say that it’s been a subdued return so far, though he’s still getting up to speed.
One player who adapted to Jose Mourinho’s side instantly was Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The former Southampton powerhouse joined Tottenham on a long-term deal earlier in the summer and he has probably been the pick of all the players to arrive in North London.
The Lilywhites have had 900 minutes of Premier League football this season and Hojbjerg has played every second, illustrating how much Mourinho rates him.
With his Scandinavian roots, the Denmark has the spirit of a viking, but Hojbjerg says that another of his Tottenham team-mates does too.
The 25-year-old has conducted an interview alongside Eric Dier, who’s been brilliant in central defence for the most part this season.
And here’s what Hojbjerg said about the England international on Instagram.
Mourinho needs both to be warriors on Sunday, as Arsenal gear up to travel across the capital for the first North London derby of the season.
Tottenham fans already adore their new midfielder but a strong performance against the Gunners this weekend will only reinforce that.
