Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a cut-price move for the full-back.

German newspaper Bild has published comments from Hoffenheim’s director of football regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Jeremy Toljan.

The publication suggests Spurs could get their man for just £3million, and that would be a huge coup considering how much they sold Kyle Walker for earlier this summer.

Toljan has just a year left on his current contract, but even so he is still available at a price almost unheard of in what has quickly become the craziest of transfer windows.

Able to play at right-back, left-back, centre-back or on the wing, Toljan is a versatile young talent who could go down a storm in North London, and his current director of football has admitted that the lure of Tottenham could be hard to ignore.

“If Tottenham come in and offer to treble Toljan’s salary you don’t say London is an unattractive city or Tottenham are a bad club,” Alex Rosen told Bild. “This is all very attractive and young players will think about it.”

Tottenham have Danny Rose and Ben Davies to compete for a left-back spot, while Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters are staking a claim on the opposite flank, but if Toljan is available for what Bild calls peanuts, a transfer is surely a no-brainer.

Tottenham have been quiet so far this summer yet much of that is down to the fact that they already have such an impressive starting XI.

The key is securing more strength in depth and Toljan’s arrival would certainly help in that regard.
