The German striker has been in fine form for Hoffenheim and is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
Mark Uth Hoffeinheim
Back in January German striker Mark Uth found himself linked with a move to English football. The Mirror reported that both Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton were keeping tabs on the player, reportedly valued at £6 million.
The Hoffenheim striker had an excellent start to the season in Germany, scoring four goals in his first three games of the season. He then suffered an untimely injury in September and has just managed the 15 games this term, scoring seven goals in total.
The 25-year-old, who scored 20 goals in 36 games with Dutch side Heerenveen two years ago, is out of contract in 2018 and has now been discussing his future. He admitted he would be tempted by a move to England.
Speaking to Bild last week he confirmed as much, stating:
“England would tempt me anyway. But that’s all there is in the future.
“Hoffenheim is the first contact. There is still enough time (on my contract). I’m not worried.”
Tottenham are still on the hunt for another striker to support Harry Kane, after the failures of Vincent Janssen this season.
Meanwhile Southampton will be looking to improve their squad on the cheap yet again this summer and Uth will no doubt be on the list.
At £6 million, he is certainly a tempting proposition.
