Glenn Hoddle has said on BT Sport 1 (5:30pm, November 25, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte will speak to Tanguy Ndombele about his situation.

The Tottenham legend thinks that Conte will have a one-on-one with Ndombele and have a chat with him about his game.

Hoddle has also said that he does not think that the France international midfielder is good enough to play as a number 10.

Why?

Well, because the 24-year-old midfielder does not score enough goals.

Ndombele has scored six goals in 61 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far in his career.

What Hoddle has said on Conte and Ndombele

Hoddle said about Ndombele on BT Sport 1 (5:30pm, November 25, 2021): “I am not sure he is good enough to be a 10.

“They have to score nowadays. He is not going to be a great goalscorer.

“He is probably going to have to play in that 8 position if they want to play in a three for what he does in midfield.”

The BT Sport pundit added: “For me, I think Conte will sit him down and have a one-on-one like no one else at the club and say, ‘Look, you are a good player. I will put you in the team, but you have to give me this, this and this’. And then it is up to the player.”

Tanguy Ndombele needs to step up

We know that Ndombele can be a force to be reckoned with on his day.

The problem is that the Tottenham no. 28 has not been very consistent.

In our view, the Frenchman needs to step up his game.

Conte is a very good manager who is tactically astute.

Under the former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager, Ndombele could flourish.

But the player himself needs to step up.

Or there is a risk that Tottenham could just cut their losses in the summer of 2022.
