Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Eagles posted a mysterious tweet about Selhurst Park.

What’s the story?

Well, Crystal Palace are in the process of redeveloping Selhurst Park, although plans have hit a snag due to a number of reasons.

Of course, the financial impacts of COVID-19 have played a part.

However, Steve Parish is also finding it difficult to conclude a land purchase agreement with Sainsbury’s, who have a store attached to the stadium.

The south Londoners also need to purchase six homes on Wooderson Close, which will then be knocked down to make room for the works.

Croydon Council gave Parish’s plans the green light in 2018, although Football London believe the main stand redevelopment will now be put on hold until 2022.

Now, after the Eagles tweeted the following picture out of the blue, some fans are starting to think it’s a hint.

In truth, it’s probably just a piece of filler content amid a quiet period, due to the recent postponements across the Premier League.

Nevertheless, it’s certainly an interesting tweet.

What’s the latest with Crystal Palace and Selhurst Park?

In addition to the above details, the Eagles also need to give those living in the six houses at least 12 months notice.

Crystal Palace must also find new homes for these people, complicating the redevelopment planning even further.

In regards to Sainsbury’s, Parish accused the supermarket of holding him to “ransom” in talks to purchase their land.

However, Football London believe talks are ongoing as both parties look to find a solution.

By the looks of it, don’t expect any movement with this situation until late 2022 – over four years after planning permission was granted.

For now, let’s see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have been saying about the club’s tweet…
