Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to hit back at Barry Ferguson’s claim regarding Steven Gerrard leaving Rangers for Selhurst Park.
On the Go Football Show, it was suggested that the Gers boss was on Palace’s shortlist to replace Roy Hodgson, a notion that was ridiculed by Ferguson
In response to that, the Daily Record quote Ferguson as saying: “In terms of Crystal Palace, there is no comparison with Rangers. Rangers are a far bigger club.”
As many Palace fans point out below, Ferguson actually left Ibrox for mid-table Premier League clubs on two occasions.
Firstly, the Scot left Glasgow for Blackburn Rovers in 2003, before eventually returning to Rangers.

Then, he left the Gers once again to join Birmingham City in 2009.
In that respect, he comes across as a bit of a hypocrite when discussing Gerrard potentially joining the south Londoners.
In our view, Gerrard would be mad to leave Rangers for Palace.
Of course, the Eagles are a stable, London-based Premier League club with some exciting players in their ranks.

However, their history and standing in the game isn’t a patch on Rangers, who are one of football’s giants.
As Sky Sports documented, Rangers lead the way in terms of all-time title wins after securing their 55th crown – one ahead of Linfield, who boast 54.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the Palace fans have been saying about Ferguson’s comments…
