Wolverhampton Wanderers aren’t going to give up on Anderson Talisca without a fight.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are going to be in the market for some high profile players this summer, and that much is a given.

What may come as a surprise to some, however, is that they are showing a great deal of interest in dipping their toe back into the Anderson Talisca pool following their seemingly never-ending saga back in 2016.

The 24-year-old is said to be available once again this year, as Benfica look to sell him off to the highest bidder. The likes of Liverpool and Roma have already registered their interest, and the latter have already had a £18 million bid rejected. With that in mind, the stage is seemingly set for Nuno Espirito Santo to come in with an even more extravagant offer.

Wolves were said to be on the verge of signing Talisca throughout the entirety of the 2016 summer window, but for one reason or another, it never quite came to fruition. Some believe that it was because Talisca wanted to wait and see whether Wolves were a legitimate force on the pitch, meanwhile, others believe that it just was not meant to be.

Either way, Wolves securing the services of Talisca nearly two years on would be a huge sign of intent. Not only would they be beating out the challenge of a handful of top-level European clubs, but it would also be one of the first times that they have had to go back to the drawing board, re-group, and then come back with a different strategy.

They have been so used to throwing money around left, right and centre as of late, but with Talisca, it did not quite pay off. If they manage to put in a bid in excess of £20 million, not only would it serve as a reminder of their power, but it would also firmly establish them as notable contenders in the market as they prepare for a likely promotion back to the Premier League.

With several top class attacking options at the club already some may be a bit hesitant to get excited regarding whether or not this is going to happen, but the great thing for Wolves fans is that so far, under the Fosun regime, they have been given no reason not to be 100% confident in trusting the club’s plans.
