Wolverhampton Wanderers’ journey back to the Premier League has been a long one, but now, they can finally rest easy knowing that their position in the top flight next season is confirmed. However, while that’s all well and good, there are still a few things that the Molineux faithful will want to accomplish before the final whistle is blown.

A few Wolves fans out there may disagree with these wishes dependant on their commitment to Midlands football, but for the most part, these three occurrences will send many supporters into the summer break with an even bigger smile on their face.

Break 100 points

Nuno Espirito Santo manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers celebrates during the Sky Bet Championship match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City at Molineux on April 15, 2018 in...

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side only need two points from their remaining two games in order to become just the fourth club since the Championship’s rebranding in 2004 to hit 100 points. They’d join Reading, Newcastle United and Leicester City in that elite class, and while they may not be able to break the overall record, hitting that kind of total is a statement of dominance to the rest of the league who will be hoping to replicate the feat next season.

West Brom relegated

West Bromwich Albion's caretaker manager Darren Moore gestures from the touchline during the English Premier League football match between West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool at The...

This one isn’t too complex and it’s not too hard to understand. While many Wolves fans will want the chance to play their bitter rivals West Bromwich Albion for the first time in six years, above that, they’ll want them to suffer the humiliation of playing in the division below the club they hate more than any other. It’s been a turbulent season for the Baggies whereas the Wanderers have flourished, and this would be the cherry on top of their entire run.

Aston Villa miss out on promotion

Aston Villa Manager Steve Bruce on the touchline during the Sky Bet Championship match between Ipswich Town and Aston Villa at Portman Road on April 21, 2018 in Ipswich, England.

For a long time, there was something of a mutual respect between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa. Their frustrations and hatred were aimed more towards West Brom and Birmingham City, but now, an unhealthy relationship has been born between the two sides. They’ve been battling it out at the top of the Championship table for most of the season, which has caused something of a divide – and if Villa missed out on promotion, it would solidify Wolves as the new kings of the region.
