Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Steve Bull has commented on the club’s outstanding success so far this season.
As reported by Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Steve Bull has spoken about the club’s fantastic form this season which has seen them leap to the top of the Championship league table.
Bull is considered to be the greatest Wolves player of all time, with his 306 goals for the club coming across an incredible 13-year tenure. Bizarrely enough the forward didn’t play a minute of top-flight football with Wolves, and yet, his dedication to the team saw him reject numerous transfer offers in order to stay at Molineux.
In the present day the former England international is still a featured member of the Wolves family, and in his latest column he expressed his joy at how well this season has gone thus far.
“They’ve kept 17 clean sheets in 30 matches which is fantastic.” said Bull.
“And they’re so clinical at the other end that sometimes they only need one chance to win the game.
“It’s the sign of any good team and you have to praise the manager for making them so organised and hard to beat.”
Many fans are noting that Wolves are starting to feel like a once in a generation team, and if they manage to keep up this kind of form then breaking Reading’s Championship points total record would not seem all that unlikely.
Of course, this league is a marathon, not a sprint and there’s a collection of extremely talented sides bunched up underneath Wanderers, but as Bull himself noted, they’re a very tough side to beat over 90 minutes.
Wolves supporters have to be optimistic about their chances if they do manage to gain promotion too, with several teams over the last few years such as Leicester, Watford and Southampton being able to carry a great of momentum up to the top flight following a strong Championship season.
For now, though, the focus turns back to Queens Park Rangers this weekend as the club attempt to make it three straight wins in the league.
