Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are loving the Portuguese sensation this season.
Wolves fans have taken to Twitter over the last 48 hours in order to react to Ruben Neves’ phenomenal strike in their 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday.
The 20-year-old showed the experience of a seasoned veteran by taking the ball under his control before calmly curling it into the top corner of the net, in a game that was considered to be one of the biggest of the season for the table toppers.
For months now Neves been able to show a level of maturity that we are not used to seeing in players of his age, and it is that kind of attitude that makes him such a fan favourite at Molineux.
On Saturday night he was able to put in a performance that is starting to become the norm, as he controlled the ball in the middle of the pitch while also bringing others into the game with the freedom of Wolverhampton.
That, in itself, is a great sign for Neves if Wolves are able to secure promotion back to the Premier League. The reason for that is because the Championship tends to be a harder place to make your mark in a game, due to the hard-hitting and often frantic nature of the division.
In the top flight, however, you often have more time to think about your decisions on the ball before ultimately making your move forward. That is going to benefit Neves, and Wolves fans are fully aware of that.
