Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have reacted to the confirmation of forward Joe Mason’s switch to MLS side Colorado Rapids.
Mason, 26, has been at Molineux since 2016, although he has spent the majority of that time on the outside of the first team bubble looking in. Over the course of the last 12 months, in particular, the former Cardiff City and Plymouth striker has been unable to force his way into Wolves’ starting XI due to the overwhelming success of other players in his position.
Mason’s move will see him get another chance at making a strong loan impression, after also spending some time at Burton Albion between August 2017 and January 2018.
The Englishman will be joining fellow Wolves player Jack Price in Commerce City, with the latter thriving in the States since his own move to Colorado was confirmed after spending more than 15 years on the books at Molineux.
Considering Wolves are on the verge of promotion back to the Premier League, it seems unlikely that Mason will feature again for the Midlands side once he returns to the club at the end of this spell. With that in mind, this gives him a great opportunity to put himself on the market ahead of the summer transfer window.
