Wolverhampton Wanderers are going to be a force to be reckoned with this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been making some serious noise in the transfer market ever since their Chinese takeover took place and, as they gear up for a potential promotion to the Premier League, the rumour mill has been heating up all over again.

As many know the biggest ‘link’ of them all has been to AC Milan forward Andre Silva, who has been attracting attention from every corner of the footballing globe. With the likes of Arsenal also said to be in the running it is no surprise to hear that Wolves’ hopes are dwindling with each passing day, but even if that is the case, does it really matter all that much?

Heading into the summer window it is clear that Wolves are going to be making some serious moves, so long as they can secure their top-flight return. With that in mind, fans need to realise that capturing a player like Silva was always going to be a very difficult task, even with some of their recent purchases.

Nobody really expects Wolves to land Silva, but the sheer fact that they are being linked with the 22-year-old is a sign of things to come. If they manage to pull it off, it would be a phenomenal deal, but if they don’t, the word is still out to other top-level players that Wolves could be a club well worth considering.

They are fresh, they are different, and they have got the money to make big things happen, and what player would not love the opportunity to thrive in a team with that kind of momentum.

It is not too ridiculous to suggest that Wolves’ current first-team squad are capable of a top-half finish in the Premier League, especially given the quality of the teams above them, and their first task should be keeping hold of the players that got them to the dance.

Neves, Cavaleiro, Costa, Jota and many more will all be considered hot commodities, and convincing those stars to remain at Molineux will serve as the building blocks for new faces to come through the door.
