The transfer rumours regarding Wolves superstar Ruben Neves have begun.

As you would expect given his phenomenal form for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season, Championship superstar Ruben Neves is considered to be a hot commodity for many clubs in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The rumour mill has begun with many top teams, including the likes of Manchester United, being linked with a move for the Portuguese youngster. While these kinds of talks can never come at a good time for Wolves fans, it will be even worse for Neves who is attempting to focus on putting together a strong run of form in what some forget is a World Cup year for the 20-year-old.

Of course, once rumours of this nature startup it is hard to stop them, which is why the best advice anyone should be giving Ruben Neves right now is this – stay put at Molineux.

While that may be easy to say from an outsider’s perspective, there is evidence to support the notion.

First off, if he does indeed move somewhere like Old Trafford, there is absolutely no guarantee that he will be awarded a place in the starting line-up. There is a plethora of midfield and attacking talent up in Manchester, and Neves would likely find himself on the bench which would do nothing for his progress.

Then you have to compare the personalities and managerial styles of Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho. On one hand, you have got a hands-on manager who showcases his passion on a weekly basis and is able to get the best out of every single player he manages. On the other, you have got Mourinho, who continues to be labelled as someone who just cannot create that spark within the dressing room anymore.

Ruben Neves has not had a taste of Premier League football before, and it makes sense for him to get it in a system that he is familiar with. The old gold and black will be taking a tonne of momentum forwards with them into the top flight if they do wind up gaining promotion, and Neves will be a central figure in their attempt to avoid dropping straight back down into the Championship.

But above all else, Neves is still young, and a big move is certainly something that should be on the cards for him someday, but right now it is just too early in his development.
