Wolverhampton Wanderers’ loss against Norwich City provided an extra kick in the teeth for the club.

Throughout the clash between Norwich City and Wolves at Carrow Road, there was something of a tense atmosphere in the air.

Both clubs had already experienced some form of disappointment this season, and the fate of their seasons could well have depended on the result against one another.

Alas, it was the Canaries who came away with the three points in what was an interesting affair to say the least.

After taking a while to get going, Wolves grew into the game after the break; meanwhile Norwich maintained a solid tempo throughout the contest.

At 1-1 it really could have gone any way, but the Ikeme red card changed the entire game and it was extremely unfortunate for Lambert’s men to throw an entertaining clash out of the window like that.

Speaking of whom, this will really sting for Lambert who was formerly a manager at Carrow Road himself.

In the four and a half years since leaving, the Scot had previously won all three of his visits back to East Anglia, however this will be the first time that Canaries fans are able to hold one over their former messiah.

Jez Moxey - Wolverhampton Wanderers Chief Executive

Plus, there is going to be an extra bad taste in the mouth of Wolves fans who were hoping to get one over on former CEO Jez Moxey.

The ever-confident businessman was the root of many issues for Wanderers supporters over the years, and knowing that he will he smiling away with three points in the bag is something that will be just too much to take for some.
