Brendan Rodgers’ decision to move to Celtic was met with surprise by some, but in reality it was actually a very smart career move.

Upon leaving Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers was without any real form of hope. His reputation had taken a bit of a battering, and it seemed likely that the Northern Irishman would take a step back from the game. However, that was not to be the case.

Rodgers was announced as Celtic boss and since that point he has not looked back. While there have been a few sizeable bumps in the road, the 43-year-old has guided the Bhoys to the top of the Scottish Premier League with 10 wins from their first 11 games and no losses.

Now that may not seem like such a groundbreaking achievement considering the lack of competitiveness in Scotland, but you can only beat what is put in front of you.

Celtic have been organised, efficient and got the job done when they needed to. They have even picked up impressive Champions League draws against Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach.

The thing that other managers need to take note of is that the pressure is off to a degree. Rodgers has been able to take what he learnt in England and adapt it to a league that is not quite as strong. He is slowly building himself a solid team at Celtic Park and is reaping the rewards of what the division has to offer.

There is certainly a minimum requirement and Rodgers is fulfilling it.
