To put it simply, a Leeds United return into the Premier League would be great for everyone involved.

Leeds United often cause a great deal of controversy when it comes to football. Just the mention of their name sends many fans up and down the country into a frenzy, and whether you like them or you don’t you cannot deny their impact on the game.

Since their relegation from the top flight more than a decade ago they have been floundering in the lower leagues, and now seems like the perfect time for them to bounce back up into the big time.

The first thing to consider is their history. When countries from abroad look towards English football and delve into the archives, Leeds United will be one of the sides that stick out above the rest.

Whether it was the Don Revie days or their success in the 90s and early 00s, the Yorkshire based club have left their fingermarks all over the game in this country.

Then you just need to look at the possible rivalries. In terms of hatred, Leeds tend to have a great deal of teams that despise them throughout all four of the leagues in England. However, the Premier League features the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, West Ham and more who are all ready to lock horns with the Monk’s men once again.

Speaking of Garry Monk – he deserves another shot at the big time. Following the disappointing conclusion to his time at Swansea, Monk has bounced back by making Leeds into a force once again when nobody thought it was possible.

The former defender has proven his managerial capabilities time and time again, and if given the chance to shine in the Premier League he will take it with both hands.

They may not be considered the prettiest or the most stylistic team in the Championship, but the buzz surrounding a Leeds return to the top flight would be emphatic to say the least.
