Why EFL’s Wolves meeting will be good for everyone

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to meet with the EFL regarding recent transfer allegations made by other clubs.

The EFL are set to finally have a meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding the recent accusations of foul play due to their spending, and while it may seem a little bit daunting for Wolves fans, this is the best possible scenario for everyone involved.

It is no secret that literally nobody on the outside looking in has any idea of what is going on here, and that includes 99% of the Wolves, Aston Villa and Leeds United fan-bases.

Based on the information that has been provided, the Molineux owners passed the O&D test, these kinds of relationships with agents have been seen before, and they have spent a great deal of money in order to get to the position they are currently in.

Unfortunately, not only is this issue causing a divide among fans, but it is also souring what is turning out to be a thrilling race for promotion to the Premier League. This weekend Wolves will take on Aston Villa at Villa Park, and yet all most people can bring themselves to talk about is what is going on behind the scenes.

This meeting will establish one of two things – either there is nothing to complain about and Wolves’ transfers are all legitimate, or there is something not quite right and further investigations need to be made. Whatever the case may be, at least we will wind up with a definitive answer sooner rather than later.

With Aston Villa’s CEO and Leeds United’s chairman both weighing in on this situation on Twitter, it is obvious to see that the problems at hand are starting to spread beyond just the supporters. If we were still in the early stages of the campaign that would not matter all too much, but the public image of these clubs and this division is being dragged through the mud right now.

It may not have been the best way in which to go about it courtesy of the complaints, but when this whole ordeal is looked back on in six months time this will be seen as a crucial turning point one way or another.

As previously mentioned, the Midlands derby between Steve Bruce’s men and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will take place tomorrow evening, meanwhile, Leeds will travel to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading.
