West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has stated that his side will not get carried away following a strong run of results.
After early season problems threatened to derail their campaign, West Bromwich Albion have bounced back in a big way and currently find themselves on a four-game unbeaten run under manager Tony Pulis. This weekend’s surprise point against Tottenham Hotspur only served to boost the spirits of Baggies fans, and as reported by the Express & Star the Welshman has stated that his side will not be getting carried away following their recent successes.
The Midlands side looked good at the weekend against a talented Spurs squad, however supporters will be wary of the fact that the season is not decided this early on and they could easily slip into trouble later in the campaign.
“As soon as you take your eye off the ball and think you’re better than what you are and start becoming complacent then the bottom drops out,” he said.
“There’s a lot of clubs in the Championship that have managed to do that but this club needs to keep its feet firmly on the ground, try and improve every window and that’s what we’re going to try and do.”
West Brom fans who were not in favour of Pulis at the start of the season may well be eating their words now, as his style of play coupled with the signings of players like Nacer Chadli have helped the club towards a comfortable position in the league table.
Unfortunately the fixture list only gets tougher from here on, with a challenging trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool coming up this weekend.
