Last night’s fourth round draw for the League Cup saw some huge ties made, with one of the biggest being Liverpool versus Tottenham.

Whilst some people like to put the League Cup down as a tournament that isn’t that important, it certainly has provided some interesting ties over the years and this season is no different. Last night saw three blockbuster matches made for the next round – West Ham v Chelsea, Manchester United v Manchester City – and Liverpool v Tottenham.
The latter of those three is perhaps the most intriguing, with both sides having a strong history in this competition. It begs the question of whether or not they’ll put out full strength teams for the match, with Spurs needing also to content with Champions League fixtures. Liverpool, of course, have no European football this season.
Both teams won their previous games in the competition with relative ease, as Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners over Derby County and Tottenham cruised to a 5-0 victory over Gillingham.

Fans of both teams certainly had their opinions last night when reacting to the news on Twitter:
