Russian police forces are preparing themselves for Tottenham’s trip to face CSKA Moscow following the trouble caused by fans in France at Euro 2016.

Most people will remember the horrific scenes back in the summer when England and Russia fans clashed in France during Euro 2016.
The attacks led to both sides being threatened with expulsion from the tournament, and as reported by Daily Mail the Russian police remember this event and are heavily preparing for the Tottenham vs CSKA Moscow clash as a result.
In addition to this, Tottenham as a club have released a statement to fans advising them not to show their club colours in the city centre of Moscow, and to only do so when they get inside the actual stadium.

“For additional personal security, it is suggested that you do not show your football colors until you are inside the stadium,’ Tottenham said in travel advice to fans. ‘Whilst flags and banners are welcome at the stadium, we recommend that they are not openly shown in the city center.”
It is a daunting prospect for fans who want to simply travel and watch their team compete in the Champions League, as they will also have to be subjected to the possibility of violence among fans.
In today’s era of football, it seemed as if most forms of hooliganism had dispersed but the events of the summer served to remind everyone that there is still a very real threat looming over the game.
