Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs has said that he cannot wait to get defender Kirk Broadfoot back into the team.
Rotherham United would kindly accept any form of assistance right now as they attempt to drag themselves off the bottom of the Championship league table. Manager Alan Stubbs will be trying everything in his power to turn the Millers’ fortunes around, especially considering the run of games they have coming up. As reported by The Star, Stubbs has said that he cannot wait for the return of defender Kirk Broadfoot from injury.
A back condition that hindered the 32-year-old in the season opener against Wolves has kept him out of action, but he seems to be close to a full return following his recovery from surgery.
Rotherham’s Kirk Broadfoot
“It’s fair to say we have missed a Kirk Broadfoot type of player,” Stubbs told The Star. “He’s what you’d call a no-nonsense defender. He puts his body on the line and does the simple things in terms of defending. He’s uncomplicated.”
“At times, we have been young, and sometimes young players can need a bit of guidance, not just from a physical point of view but from a vocal point of view, telling them where to be.
“There are certain times in games where you need that experienced head just to settle things down.”

The defender’s return will give Stubbs more of a selection headache following the successful partnership of Dominic Ball and Dael Fry that has formed in the last few games.
The upcoming clash with Norwich City following the international break will probably be too soon for Broadfoot, but the Scotsman seems to be ahead of schedule as he prepares to help the Millers in their relegation fight.
