Liverpool have been linked with yet another big Real Madrid star.

As we move closer towards the summer transfer window, rumours are starting to surface regarding some of England’s biggest clubs – with Liverpool being at the forefront.

The Merseyside club are constantly being linked with high profile names and now, as reported by Diario Gol, Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez is said to be on their radar.

Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool looks on prior to the Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on March 10, 2018 in Manchester, England.

The 26-year-old has been on the books at the Bernabeu for over a decade now and, while he is considered to be a solid member of the squad, his natural ability is always going to draw the attention of clubs from abroad. Of course, the Reds are not the only English side interested, with Arsenal also being linked to the winger.

While it is all well and good to shoot for the stars, especially when you are playing at the highest level, it feels like Liverpool are looking too far ahead if this turns out to be true. With the likes of Salah, Firmino and Mane already leading one of the best attacks in Europe, the addition of Vazquez raises questions regarding where their priorities lie.

It is no secret that Liverpool’s biggest issue for a few years now has been the defence, and while they have taken steps to rectify that, they do not seem to be committing towards fixing the problem as much as they are focused on stacking up their attacking prowess.

In football a solid defensive display can thwart even the best attack nine times out of ten and, when you have got the likes of Dejan Lovren at the back, your strategy certainly needs to be re-assessed.
