Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has made some interesting comments following his side’s loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

It has been an inconsistent start to the season to say the least for Queens Park Rangers, and things did not get any easier following a disappointing result against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend. The narrow loss leaves the club lingering in mid-table and despite a solid enough performance, it does highlight that there is a long way to go before they can start being considered as legitimate contenders for promotion once again. As reported by Get West London, manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink had some interesting comments regarding the defeat.
It was Gary Hooper’s strike late in the first half that sunk the Rs, and despite the quality within their squad it seems as if Hasselbaink is struggling to work out a system that will consistently bring them results.
Hasselbaink said to Get West London: “We should have been more cute – and we must get better at that.

“But I’m happy with the performance and the boys did the well.
“We are trying to get toward the top of the table (where Sheff Wed are) – and yes there is a difference.
“Today was a big test – and we did well. That’s our aim to be up there. First we have to walk, then run and then sprint – and at the moment we are at the jogging stage.”

The Dutchman’s seemingly philosophical stance on his side’s situation is an interesting one, and it may not be what the supporters want to hear with so many specific questions left unanswered regarding the squad.
Hasselbaink will now look towards preparing his QPR team for a huge derby clash against local rivals Brentford on Friday night.
