Following a positive start to the season things have hit a bit of a wall for Norwich City in their last few games.
Dropped points against Fulham and Preston North End over the last seven days have highlighted that the Canaries are not as untouchable as we once thought.
They currently find themselves in fourth and while they are still within touching distance of the automatic promotion places, there is a lot of work to be done in the weeks ahead to ensure they do not go on a bad run of form.
Leeds United – Away (League Cup)
A quick diversion from the Championship comes in the form of a trip to surprise package Leeds United, and this one really is anybody’s guess. Leeds are riding high in the top 10 while Norwich are a bit punch drunk, and the importance of the cup will become very evident in this game.
Out of the two it would seem as if Leeds would want the victory more, and given that it takes place at Elland Road the odds are stacked against Norwich. Still, the strength in depth that the Canaries have at their disposal is frightening so it seems likely this will go to penalties.
Prediction: Leeds 1-1 Norwich – (Leeds win on penalties)
Brighton – Away (Championship)
Probably one of the worst possible fixtures for Alex Neil’s men following a midweek cup game would be another trip to a top side in the division. Brighton are sat comfortably in second and have the fewest losses in the Championship this season, as Chris Hughton has them well on track for the Premier League.
Given the fortunes of both of these sides it would appear as if the Seagulls are the favourites, and despite Norwich’s overall ability this will probably be too big of an obstacle to overcome.
Prediction: Brighton 2-0 Norwich
Leeds – Home (Championship)
The perfect chance for retribution at Carrow Road which is where Norwich thrive. Following a string of bad results they will go into this clash with a serious chip on their shoulder and the sheer talent throughout their squad indicates that this will only go one way.
Leeds are still one of the in-form teams in the division of course so it will not be easy, but Neil is starting to know this league like the back of his hand and they will just have too much for the Yorkshire side.
Prediction: Norwich 3-1 Leeds
