Birmingham City’s mixed fortunes in recent weeks have left fans wondering if they have what it takes to push for the play-offs.

Under Gary Rowett’s leadership, Birmingham City have been transformed back into a side capable of challenging for promotion.
Regardless of what has happened in past years they are certainly in with a great chance of the play-offs this time around, however they will certainly be pushed to the limit in their next few games.

Aston Villa – Home
The big one: the second city derby. It goes without saying that this is considered to be a must-win for the club, and the recent Friday night losses to Burton Albion and Nottingham Forest have not helped their confidence heading into this clash.
If anything Villa are the in-form side following back-to-back wins under new manager Steve Bruce, and they will likely come firing out of the blocks at St Andrew’s. It will be tense and it will be nervy, with a score draw looking like a good bet.
Prediction: Birmingham 1-1 Aston Villa

Huddersfield – Away
The Terriers are looking to ensure their season stays on track following two losses in their last three games. Their early form appears to be wearing off as more teams start to figure them out, and given the quality of the sides around them that spells bad news.
This would seem to be the perfect opportunity for the Blues to grab a big victory, however both sides have a tendency to crumble under pressure which is why a draw could once again be on the cards.
Prediction: Huddersfield 0-0 Birmingham

Bristol City – Home
Two young, hungry sides going against each other with not many people tipping them for the play-offs prior to the season – a recipe for goals. Both teams have the potential to make it into the top six, but maintaining their momentum will prove to be tricky in such a difficult league.
It may seem optimistic but a six-goal thriller would certainly be welcomed with open arms by neutrals, and given the attacking ability of both sides it could well happen.
Prediction: Birmingham 4-2 Bristol City
