This was to be expected from many pundits and supporters around the world, and all of a sudden the push for the play-offs appears to be back on once again.
Given the unpredictability of the Championship, it really is anyone’s guess as to who will end up in the top six. Villa are in a position where they are within range of the top sides, with their momentum set to carry them a long way towards potential success.
The summer signings are all starting to gel, with Jonathan Kodjia in particular proving to be quite the purchase for the Midlands side. Teams are starting to come to Villa Park with an essence of fear, which is something that fans have not been able to say for years now.
What Villa really need to reach that peak of confidence is a convincing victory, with their only win by more than one goal coming against Rotherham United.
Their next few games will provide a big indication as to their overall potential.
With trips to in-form Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United awaiting them, Bruce’s credentials will be tested to the limit.
