Crystal Palace and Leicester City have been heading in somewhat different directions so far this season, with the Eagles exceeding expectations for some and the Foxes being quite underwhelming in the league for others. Regardless, it was an entertaining clash at the weekend when the two sides met as Leicester came away with all three points courtesy of a 3-1 triumph. As reported by the Evening Standard, Palace manager Alan Pardew has stated that he feels like Leicester were back to their best against his side.

Goals from Ahmed Musa, Shinji Okazaki and Christian Fuchs sealed a much needed victory for Ranieri’s men who would have still been on a high from their Champions League exploits in midweek. Regardless, their return to winning ways in the Premier League will be a much needed boost for the club.

“I definitely think they were more like it today,” Pardew told the Evening Standard.

“I was at the game against Chelsea and they didn’t have the same verve and aggression as they had today.

“They made it very, very difficult for us today, but we stood up to it for long periods.”

Yohan Cabaye grabbed a consolation goal late in the game for Palace and despite it not being a horrendous performance, Pardew will know full well that his side are now without a win in three league games.

They will attempt to break this bad run of form when hosting Liverpool at Selhurst Park next weekend but that will be easier said than done given the players at the Reds’ disposal.
