As reported by Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo remains focused on the prize of promotion following a truly fantastic first half of the Championship season.

The 44-year-old Portuguese manager has been able to oversee one of the most remarkable turnarounds in the history of the second tier, with Wanderers going from perennial mid-table fodder to title contenders in the space of a few months.

A great deal of that work can be attributed to Nuno’s phenomenal attitude since walking through the doors of the Midlands club prior to the start of the season and, at this stage, his personality has become infectious.

While he may have landed himself in hot water on more than one occasion, all that has done is solidified his passion for this club and this game. Wolves have always had a fan base that is notoriously difficult to please, and yet less than a year into the gig, he has already receiving near-universal praise from the old gold and black.

In the wake of Wolves’ most recent triumph – a 3-0 demolition of Sheffield United – Nuno made sure to let the media know that the aim remains the same.

“It’s the same situation, nobody is talking about results,” he said. “What we care about is who’s up against us and QPR is now the only focus of the team.

“Am I the only one speaking like this? The boys speak like this. Look at them after the game they’re working hard.

“Sunday they will rest and Monday they will work hard again – there’s a long way to go and everyone knows that.

“It’s the philosophy, from day one until now nothing changes, until the end.”

It is easy to lose track of things when you are flying high at the top of any respective division, and that is especially true when it comes to the Championship. It is an unforgiving league that’ll take no prisoners, with the slightest slip-up opening the door for a potential collapse.

In this case, however, it seems that the blip Wolves suffered a few weeks back was nothing more than an anomaly. Nuno was able to instantly identify the problem, change things up, and now they are back to business as usual.

When fans look back on this season in a few years time, their trip to Spain will be seen as a big turning point, but in true Nuno fashion, no one will look back until the final chapter in this story has been written.
