Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Alfred N’Diaye has praised the work of his teammates at the club.
As reported by Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Alfred N’Diaye has been full of praise for his teammates at Molineux.
The 27-year-old Frenchman is currently on loan at the Midlands club from Spanish giants Villarreal, and while he has not been the most featured defensive midfielder in the line-up, he certainly understands the definition of being a team player.
N’Diaye’s only goal this campaign came in a 2-1 triumph over Barnsley, but his contributions to the club seem to run far deeper than that.
Despite not being the first or even eighth name on the team sheet every week, N’Diaye is continually backing the club both behind the scenes and in the media.
“I don’t know him but after less than one week, you can see his quality and he’s quite a player,” N’Diaye said when discussing new signing Benik Afobe.
“Before he scored a lot of goals for Wolves, so I hope for him and for us, he can score again. We have good strikers – we have him, Leo (Bonatini) and Rafa (Mir) so we have a lot of strikers and wingers too.
N’Diaye also spoke about Wanderers’ midfield marvel Ruben Neves.
“He has good quality,” he added. “He’s young but he’s a good player and when he scores a goal like that, everyone is happy – it’s very nice for the fans and for us.
“He works on it – the day before the game, we work on shooting and free-kicks and he always focuses on that – he works well.”
The strength in depth at Wolves is something that many fans have been eager to point out, with some even declaring it unfair given how much money the club has spent over the course of both the summer and winter transfer windows.
Unfortunately, a lot of their grievances are coming off as jealousy, because while they have indeed spent the money, they’re one of the first teams to have actually utilised their new players successfully in the Championship. If you take sides like Nottingham Forest as a prime example, they have been happy to spend millions in years gone by and nobody blinks an eye due to their position in the table.
It speaks volumes about the club that they’re able to have someone as talented as N’Diaye not be in the starting XI on a week to week basis, and yet he’s still more than happy to boost the club in alternate ways.
Thankfully for him, the last two games have allowed the Paris-born star to shine and moving forward he has given manager Nuno Espirito Santo something to think about.
