The future of Liverpool Football Club appears to be in good hands following the U23s’ impressive victory over Tottenham.

In this day and age there is not as much emphasis put on the youth systems around the country, but if this performance is anything to go by then we should probably start paying attention.
In an eight-goal thriller the Reds ran out 6-2 winners over Tottenham in this under 23 game, in which a few players who have already made their first-team debuts featured.
Youngster Cameron Brannagan was the star as he netted a brace, in a contest where Michael Beale’s men were already 3-0 up after just 10 minutes.

The game was played at Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium, however if some of these players keep up this level of performance then they will be playing on much bigger stages than that.
It was no fluke either, as the victory comes off the back of a 4-0 demolition of Leicester in their last game. It is clear that they are all trying to prove a point to the likes of Jurgen Klopp, and we may even see a few of them get a run out in cup games this season.
