The future of Real Madrid star Isco remains uncertain.

Isco of Spain celebrates after scoring his sides third goal during the International Friendly between Spain and Argentina on March 27, 2018 in Madrid, Spain.

The chase for Real Madrid superstar Isco is one that’s already been ongoing for a few weeks now, even with the season still being in full swing. Liverpool were said to be interested, but these latest developments make it seem highly unlikely that the English side will win the race for his signature.

As reported by Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Italian giants Juventus are set to send representatives to meet with Madrid in order to discuss a potential transfer. Ironically enough, the two sides will go head to head in the Champions League this week, which in a weird way, could prove to be the catalyst behind these talks progressing positively.

The fee in question would be around £104 million, and the second the Reds hear that figure, they’ll need to cancel their plans for an offer.

Why? Because regardless of just how impressive Isco has been during his time at the Bernabeu, they can’t afford to be throwing around that kind of money for someone who isn’t a certainty for success. He has no prior experience outside of La Liga, and at this moment in time, it’s hard to deny that Juventus have a much higher standing in European football.

A bidding war would prove to be a waste of time, and considering how high their ambitions are, they can’t afford to relax during the summer window. A move like this would be dragged out from May all the way through to August, and they’re better off focusing their attention elsewhere.

In terms of their focus on the pitch, Liverpool will be attempting to secure their passage into the Champions League semi-finals against Manchester City tonight.
