Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe is on fire right now.

Over the course of just a few short weeks, Benik Afobe has gone from being a Premier League outcast to becoming one of the hottest strikers in the Championship.

That kind of thing does not usually happen overnight, but when it comes to Afobe, his connection to Wolverhampton Wanderers was enough to help turn the fortunes of his once-promising career back in the right direction.

With four goals in his last four games, the DR Congo international finally has a sense of confidence and swagger to his play, which once again proves that a stroke of good luck or one moment of brilliance can create weeks of happiness and consistent success.

In terms of the specifics, however, one thing that will always have helped Wolves to unlock the key to rediscovering Afobe’s form was his unfinished business at Molineux. The forward left under a cloud of uncertainty, and considering the success he had in the Midlands, that left a sour taste in his mouth.

He was always so boxed in with the Cherries, and while some will suggest that he simply is not a Premier League calibre player, it will be interesting to see how he fares next season if Wolves can secure promotion.
