Promotion now seems a certainty for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are at the stage where they can reach out and touch the Premier League and, with just eight games remaining in the Championship season, promotion to the top flight has never been closer for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
For months now they have been controlling the pace at the top of the division and, as we move towards April, they show no signs of slowing down. Because of this many fans have been left to wonder just how long it will take for the celebrations to begin and, unsurprisingly, the finish line is in sight.

Following a drop in form from both Fulham and Aston Villa, the two automatic promotion chasers can now only finish on a maximum of 93 points. Obviously, there is still every chance that they do not win every single game they have got left but, if they do, Wolves will only need to accumulate 12 more points in order to reach the magic total of 94.
That leaves Wolves requiring just four wins from their final eight games, meaning that victories over Middlesbrough, Hull City and Cardiff would leave the game against Derby County at Molineux on April 11 open for a potential promotion crowning.
It is not going to be that simple, though, with Boro and Cardiff both being on fire right now as they also attempt to bounce back into the top flight. With that being said, if all goes to plan, the soonest possible point at which Wolves could be promoted would be eight days before they even host the Rams.

If Wolves defeat Tony Pulis’s side at the Riverside and then see off the challenge of Hull, they could confirm promotion on April 3 if Fulham and Villa lose their next two games. Considering the Cottagers will face Norwich and Leeds United, while Steve Bruce’s side will play Hull and then Reading, it does not seem that likely.
Still, with April almost upon us, Wolves fans will take comfort in knowing that even a few slip-ups would leave them in a great position to achieve their end goal.
