In-form Rotherham United forward Danny Ward has insisted that he is remaining focused on the task at hand as opposed to his future at the club.

Under new manager Kenny Jackett the mood is slowly starting to get better at Rotherham United, with supporters believing the ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers boss is the ideal candidate to lead them away from the threat of relegation zone.

Another key factor in their great escape attempt will be in-form forward Danny Ward, who has been grabbing the headlines all season long. As reported by The Star, Ward has stated that he is remaining fully focused on the task at hand as opposed to his future at the New York Stadium.

The 25-year-old has found the back of the net eight times in just 15 league games so far this campaign, however he is out of contract at the end of the season. Regardless, the forward has decided to put his attention towards helping the Millers survive instead of discussing where his future lies.

“I have to not think about it and not let anything like that bother me,” said the Englishman to The Star.

“I’ve just got to keep everything game by game and make sure I focus on doing my job for the team.”

“We have the squad to do well in this league but it just hasn’t really clicked yet,” he said. “The last couple of games, it has started to, and I’m sure we’ll start getting some wins.”

After Ward’s two goals helped Rotherham towards a 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town, it has become even more evident how vital he is to the club’s fortunes.

With Jackett’s experience at this level combined with the talent they have at their disposal, it seems likely that the Yorkshire side will start to piece some wins together.
