The Eagles fought their way to a hard-earned draw against Newcastle United this weekend.
Crystal Palace are still above water after an entertaining 1-1 draw with Newcastle United left them three points above the relegation zone in 14th place.
It was a game that neutrals were not really looking towards as a source of entertainment but, in the end, it wound up being one of the highlights of the weekend in the Premier League. Obviously, we did not see an abundance of goals, but that is not always the story in a clash between two relegation contenders.
Both sides have quality in different areas of the pitch and we saw them cancel each other out, with Palace being the team who will feel like this was two points dropped.
They really struggled to find their rhythm in the first 45 minutes but, thankfully for Eagles fans, they woke up in the second half and took the game to the Magpies.
Newcastle were living dangerously for the better part of the second half as Palace went in search of a winner but, in the end, they were forced to settle for a point which kept them above Southampton.
Roy Hodgson has certainly been able to transform this Palace team in many ways, but when it was all said and done last night, fans were divided between loving the intensity in their performance and wondering what could have been with their missed opportunities.
