Liverpool could become Premier League title contenders once again.

As Liverpool try to secure their place in the Champions League final, many questions are being asked about their future potential. Given the popularity of Jurgen Klopp and the overall quality of the squad, many are considering the possibility of them becoming title challengers from next season onward.
As reported by the Daily Star, one man who believes that is a credible possibility is Craig Bellamy. The Welshman has played for both clubs over the course of his career and seems to believe that there is room for a title challenge at Anfield.

“I believe Liverpool are one or two players away from really mounting a charge and being up there with this incredible Man City team,” he said.
“But the scary thing about all this is that City are going to improve again. They’re going to get better but has this season just been that incredible that they won’t be able to reach that points tally again?”
Bellamy raises an interesting question given just how strong City have been this season because, as we have seen in the recent history of the Premier League, it is incredibly difficult to maintain consistency after initially winning the title.

It has been nine years since a team has won back-to-back Premier League titles, when an Alex Ferguson-led Manchester United managed to win three in a row. Since then teams have improved year in, year out to the point where the title race is as unpredictable as ever once August rolls around.
The important thing for Liverpool will be maintaining the core of their squad, because there is a lot of quality in their ranks that will be gaining attention from around Europe. Klopp understands that he cannot afford to upset the status quo too much and, if they can keep their momentum going into the 2018/19 campaign, anything is possible.
