Stan Collymore’s advice for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish doesn’t seem all too useful.

Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore recently took it upon himself to offer some advice to the club’s current star man Jack Grealish.
Collymore was a part of the Villa family for three years, and while he did not have the most lucrative of tenures in front of goal, he did manage to become just the third player to score a hat-trick in Europe for the Midlands side.
Now with that being said, Collymore’s latest comments beg more questions than they answer.

“What Jack needs to do now is make sure Aston Villa get back to the Premier League and then start to put in Premier League performances week in week out,” Collymore told the Birmingham Mail.
“Does he have the ability? Absolutely. Does he have the consistency? Not yet no, but if he finds it then Villa have a huge asset for the next five or six years.”
In terms of comparisons, Stan Collymore may as well have told every striker in the league that the secret to winning football games is scoring more goals than your opposition.

For someone who played at the highest level of English football for the better part of a decade, you would think that there would be something more intricate that Collymore could divulge to Grealish. Perhaps he could assist him with some comments regarding how to be stronger on the ball, how to deal with fan pressure, or how to keep yourself out of the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
While he may well have done that behind closed doors, Collymore has a platform to communicate with thousands upon thousands of football fans – and he should be offering up some genuine advice or anecdotes considering he’s been in the same position as Grealish in the past.
If anything this is going to heap more pressure on the youngster’s shoulders, because it appears as if many fans, alongside Collymore, are already looking towards promotion as a virtual certainty.
The Championship is an unforgiving league, and things need to be taken one game at a time – especially when you are in Jack Grealish’s position.
