West Brom fans will be delighted with the news that veteran player Chris Brunt made his return in the under-23 game against Aston Villa.

After months on the sidelines, Chris Brunt has finally returned in an appearance for West Bromwich Albion’s under 23s. The midfielder played 60 minutes and even managed to get an assist as his side ran out 5-2 winners over their rivals Aston Villa.
It was his first game since sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a game against Crystal Palace nearly seven months ago. As such an important player in the Baggies’ squad, many will be thrilled to hear that he is not far off a return to the first time.

Brunt has been at The Hawthorns for nearly ten years, and such an established player is needed back in the starting XI as soon as possible given the uncertainty surrounding the club at present.
His leadership and work rate alone are enough to warrant a place back in the first-team, and after such consistent performances over the years he could add another element to a West Brom side looking to secure their Premier League status.
